| Umeå – Dublin
The
journey began in Umeå, where a group of nervous but excited students
met at the airport. Before arriving to Dublin and checking in at the Kinlay
House, we stopped both, in Stockholm and in Copenhagen to change planes.
The trip went on fine except for one small misfortune with a broken wheel
on one of the suitcases.
Tired and hungry, but with a good spirit we went on to visit at a real
Irish Pub, which was a first time experience for most of us. Meeting up
with the Germans students we went on for a memorable night in Dublin…

The Group of Twelve!
From Remagen to Dublin
It was warm for being a day in February. The soft wind reaching out for
us and our thoughts accompanied us to the Düsseldorf airport. Loaded
with heavy goods to make our excursion into an effective event, nearly
everyone of us had to announce overweight luggage.
Time was running and finally we were sitting on the plane carrying us
carefully through the stormy western European sky.
We touched down in Dublin and the stormy Irish wind welcomed us. Our luggage
was there with us, too. Outside of the airport, transportation staff led
the group of twelve to two nice taxis driving us to the stone steps of
Kinlay House.
The night tasted like meeting new friends, putting old friendships on
solid ground, dancing and celebrating the lively atmosphere in the gorgeous
city of Dublin. Together we became a group of five times five, socializing
with our Swedish partners, everybody reached their beds early Saturday
morning having tested the intercultural way of partying. Some of us mixed
with some really friendly Irish pub visitors. They were really nice and
curious about the crowd of twenty five, and with their best wishes for
our stay we are now travelling of to Achill in a good mood.
The first practical lessons were learned “socializing with some
typical Irish pub goers”, and lots of lessons are yet to be learned,
so
“Let’s take it and make it!”
